Cascade Volcanic Arc - South Sister summit, Three Sisters Wilderness, Oregon (2016)
Looking north from the summit of South Sister at over 10,000 feet, the first rays of morning light flood the great volcanic peaks of the Pacific Northwest. A gleaming string of volcanos stretching to the horizon casts a veil of beauty over the region and belies the powerful geologic forces which shape this part of the country. The Cascade Volcanic Arc includes nearly 20 volcanos and stretches more than 700 miles from Northern California to southwestern British Columbia.
Pictured here, from left to right, is Middle Sister, Three Fingered Jack, Mt. Saint Helens (in the distance directly behind Three Fingered Jack), Mt. Jefferson, North Sister, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Adams. Mt. Rainier is also visible but mostly obscured by North Sister.
Limited edition of two hundred and fifty
