Embers of Dawn
Moraine Lake - Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada (2016)
Moraine Lake needs to be experienced in person to truly grasp its splendor. Formed by the slow yet immense force of glacial erosion, this spectacular lake derives its surreal color from small rock fragments suspended in the water.
On this morning, it didn't appear as though light would be able to penetrate the dense morning clouds. But then it happened. For a brief moment, the sky lit up as the peaks blazed a fiery red.
