The Teton range rises up from a fog-filled valley on a crisp fall morning. This dramatic mountain range began to form around 13 million years ago as the the two blocks along the north-south running Teton fault shifted vertically. The Jackson basin block on the eastern side moved down while the western side rose skyward forming the youngest range in the Rockies.
